What Is a Full Diagnostic Hearing Assessment?
Understanding Your Hearing - Properly.
A full diagnostic hearing assessment gives you a clear, accurate picture of your hearing health. It involves detailed testing that looks at how well your ears are functioning and helps us identify the cause and type of hearing loss, if present.
This isn’t just a basic hearing check, it’s a full, clinically recognised evaluation led by a qualified audiologist.
What’s the Difference Between a Hearing Check and a Full Diagnostic Hearing Assessment?
A free hearing check is a quick screening to see if further testing is needed. A full diagnostic assessment is a detailed, 60-minute evaluation that provides a clear diagnosis and personalised advice.
What’s Involved in the Appointment?
Our diagnostic assessments are completely painless and typically take around 60 minutes. Your appointment will include:
A detailed discussion of your hearing history and concerns
Otoscopic examination (checking the ear canal and eardrum)
Pure tone audiometry (testing hearing thresholds)
Speech audiometry (testing understanding of speech)
Tympanometry (checking middle ear function)
Explanation of results and personalised recommendations
You’ll leave with clear answers and expert guidance tailored to your needs.
Who Should Book a Diagnostic Hearing Assessment?
You may benefit from a full hearing assessment if you:
Have noticed gradual or sudden changes in your hearing
Struggle to hear clearly in conversations or noisy places
Often ask others to repeat themselves
Have a family history of hearing loss
Need a comprehensive hearing report for referral or insurance purposes
No referral is needed - you can book directly with us.
